Jab tak Maangne ka bhaav hai, tab tak Dasya bhaav nahi hai.
[As long as you feel like asking for something, you haven’t attained the State of Servitude (Dasya-bhaav).]

Tum kuchh aur kar sako ya nahi, tum meri katha ka aashray le lo to mera swaroop hriday main utrega to jeev nishpaap hoga.
[If you can’t do anything else, just take shelter in my ‘Katha’. Then, my Image (Swaroop) will descend into your Heart & thus can the soul be cleansed (Nishpaap).]

Parmatma ka naam hi Kalyug main ek saadhan hai,
[God’s Name is the only recourse in ‘Kalyug’.]

Shrimad Bhagwatam ke Chauthe Skandh main 4 Mukhya Prakaran hain: Dharm, Arth, Kaam aur Moksh. Ye 31 adhyaayon main vibhaajit hain:
Dharm – 7 Adhyaay;
Arth – 5 Adhyaay;
Kaam – 11 Adhyaay, jisme 5 Gyaanendriya, 5 Karmendriya aur ek Man ka pratinidhitva kar rahe hain;
Moksh – 8 Adhyaay – Astadha Prakriti ka pratinidhitva rahe hain, jinme 4 Sagun Brahm ki Upaasna hai aur 4 Nirgun Brahm ki upaasna.

[The 4th Skandha (Canto) of the Shrimad Bhagwatam consists of 31 Chapters divided into 4 sections of ‘Dharm’,’Arth’,’Kaam’ & ‘Moksh’, in the following manner:
Dharm – 7 Chapters;
Arth – 5 Chapters;
Kaam – 11 Chapters, in which 5 represent the ‘Gyanendriyas’ (the 5 sense-organs), 5 represent the ‘Karmendriyas’ (the 5 work organs) & one represents the Mind.
Moksh - 8 Chapters, which represent the ‘Astadha Prakriti’, of which 4 in turn are representative of the ‘Saguna Brahm Upaasna’ (Worship of the God with Form) & the remaining 4 of the ‘Nirgun Brahm Upaasna’ (Worship of the Formless God).]

Rushi ka arth hai pavitra Vichardhara.
[‘Rushi’ implies/personifies a Pure Thought-process (Vichardhara).]

Shradhha, Maitri, Daya, Shanti, Mukti, Kriya, Unnati, Ushi, Budhhi, Medha, Titikshwa aur anya kai Dharm se utpann hui hain, Dharn ki Santaan hain yeh.
[Faithfullnes, Friendship, Mercy, Peace, Liberty, Work, Progress, (‘Ushi’), Intellect, Intelligence, Tolerance, etc. are the children of ‘Dharm’, i.e. they have been borne of ‘Dharm’]

Jab tak Dehaadhyaas hai tab tak Dharm na chhodo. Jab tak Stree Purush main fark lagta hai tab tak Dharm na chhodo.Indriya Nigrah karo. Budhhi ko keval Parmaatma ki or badhaao.
[As long as there is a Bodily feeling (‘Dehaadhyaas’), do not leave your ‘Dharm’, or Disciplines/ Code of Conduct. As long as you perceive a distinction between Man & Woman, do not leave
your ‘Dharm’, or Disciplines/Code of Conduct. Exercise control over the senses. Drive the Intellect towards God only.]

Jahaan Satya hai vahaan Dharm hai.
[‘Dharm’ (or, Righteousness) exists where there is Truth (or, where Truth is followed).]

Dharm ka uddeshya hai ki Jeev ka patan na ho – jiske aacharan se jeev Shaant ho.
[The aim of ‘Dharm’ (or, Discipline/Code of Conduct) is tp prevent a person’s downfall (‘Patan’). It implies following a lifestyle which brings Peace (Shanti) to the Individual.]

Darm matlab Farz, matalab Zimmedaari.
[‘Dharm’ implies Duties.]

Sadhu hona kathin nahi hai, Saral hona bahut kathin hai.
[It’s not that difficult to become a Hermit (Sadhu) but it’s very difficult to be Simple/Guileless (Saral).]

Jo Dhaaran kiya jaye, vahi Dharm hai.
[That which is Assumed/Held/Prehended/Taken up (Dharan) is called ‘Dharm’ (Code of Conduct).]

Mata Devhuti ki 9 Kanyaaon main se ek Anusuya hain, Atri maharaj ke saath unka Vivaah karaaya gaya hai.
[One of the 9 daughters of Mother Devhuti is called Anusuya. She is married to Atri Maharaj.]

Asuya matlab Irshyaa. Yah ek Dimak hai – Hriday ke Sadgunon ko khaa jati hai.
[‘Asuya’ implies Envy/Jealosy (Irshya). It is like a termite – it eats away all the good qualities of the Heart.]

Anusuya ka arth hai Irshya ka abhav.
[‘Anusuya’ implies lack of Envy/Jealosy.]

Atri : “Na Trih iti Atrih”.
Jo teenon gunon se upar hai, vahi Atri hain.
[‘Atri’ implies one which is beyond the three qualities of ‘Sattva’, ‘Rajas’, &’Tamas’.]

[‘Tap’ implies hard work. It means carrying out one’s duties with Joy & Pleasantness (Prasannta).]

Parmaatma pariksha ke bina kisi ko apnaate nahi.
[God doesn’t accept anyone without a Test(Pariksha).]

Anusuya ne Dattatreya Maharaj ko paaya hai – Brahm ko baalak bana diya.
[Anusuya has attained Dattatreya Maharaj(as her child) – She has turned God into a child.]

Ananyata ka arth hai jab tak dehaadhyaas hai tab tak Dev par aashray rakhna. Ek se anya Dev ko bhi apne Isht ka bhaag samajhna – unse alag na samajhna.
[‘Ananyata’ implies Faith in ‘Dev’ (or, God) as long as there exists a Bodily Feeling (‘Dehaadhyaas’). It also means to see your own Ishta (Beloved God) in the image of any other
Dev too, rather than viewing them differently.]

Apne Ishta Dev ka swaroop apne Man main 24 ghante rakho. Parmaatma ka swaroop laukik any alaukik hai. ‘Karshyati Aakarshyati iti Krushnah.”
[Keep the image of your Ishta Dev (Beloved God) in your mind for all 24 hours of a day. God’s image is not worldly, or material. God’s image is Divine. “Karshati Aakarshayati iti Krushnah.”]

Shiv jaisa koi Dev nahi. Shiv jasii koi gati nahi. Shiv ki sanskruti sweekaar ki hai.
[There is no God like ‘Shiva’. There is no attainment like ‘Shiva’. Shiva’s nature is of acceptance only.]

Shiv - sadhu aur kharab, sukh aur dukh, pavitra aur apavitra, sabhi prakaar ke aapas main vipreet vruttion ka bhi sweekar karte hain. Isliye ve Vishwanaath hain.
[‘Shiva’ accepts the Good & the Bad, Pain & Pleasure, Pure & Impure, & the like, all equally. He accepts all pairs of opposite tendencies in Nature. That is why He is the ‘Vishwanaath’, or
the ‘Lord of the World’.]

[If you lose Money – thank God for taking away your Illegitimate/Impure Money (Alakshmi).]

Budhhi main dosh aata hai. in doshon ka nivaaran karn eke liye Yog, Jap, Tap, Vrat, Puja aadi prakriyaain karaai jaati hain. Nahi to umra badhe to – budhhi ka vikaas, shradhha ka vinaash.
[Intellect become impure with time. In order to remove these impurities the processes of ‘Yog’ (Devotion), ‘Jap’ (Chanting), ‘Tap’ (Hard Work), ‘Vrat’ (Fasting), ‘Puja’(Worship), etc are asked to
be done. Or else, as age increases – the progress of Intellect diminishes Faith.]

Mukti chaahte ho to vishayon ka chintan chhodo.
[If you want Mukti (Liberation), cast away Material Aspirations.]

Mumukshatva prakat ho to parmaatma ki Krupa hai.
[A desire for Liberation happens only by the Grace of God.]

[Wanting to do good unto others implies God has remembered you.]

Jahan Sangati hai vahan Moh hoga.
[Where there is Companionship (‘Sangati’), there will be Delusion (‘Moh’).]

Jo man ki sangati nahi kar sakta, bah adhyaatm maarg main safal nahi ho sakta. Isme bahut bhut-pret hain puraane paapon ke.
[One who can’t keep company of his own mind cannot succeed in the Spiritual path. Because this (the Mind) contains many devils, of the past sins.]

Dukh main Hari-Smarn ho;
Sukh-Dukh main Hari Sharan ho; aur
Sukh main Hari Samarpan ho.

[In life, three types o circumstances come: Sukh (Happiness), Dukh (Sadness) & Sukh-Dukh (Mixture of the two):
In Dukh (Sadness), remember God (Hari-Smaran);
In Sukh-Dukh (Happiness-Sadness Combined), take Shelter in God (Hari Sharan); &
In Sukh (Happiness), Surrender unto God (Hari Samarpan).]

Navdha Bhakti main ‘Dasya’, ‘Sakhya’ aur ‘Aatmanivedan’ – in 3 Bhaktion main ham Bhagwaan ke partantra hain. Baki 6 ke liye ham swatantra hain.
[Of the 9 Bhaktis, in 3, i.e. in ‘Dasya’ (Devotion of Servitude), ‘Sakhya (Devotion of Friendship)’ & ‘Aatmanivedan’ (Devotion of Self-Dedication) we are dependent on God. The remaining six,
we are free to pursue.]
